my pet is at my veterinarian, what do i do?

Many veterinarian offices in the area have the capability of allowing you to make all necessary arrangements right there in their office. Though there are also many who require you contact us directly to make those arrangements. Be sure to check with your veterinarian first for guidance on what to do next.
Once we are notified of your need for our services, either by your veterinarians office if you’ve made your arrangements with them or by you if they require you contact us, we will schedule our driver to go to your clinic to pick up your baby and we will return them to your vets office after all of our services have been rendered. Please note that if you are required to contact us by your veterinarian to make arrangements for your pet, we will not send our driver to pick them up until we have heard from you directly on what your wishes are for them.

What if my dog was in an accident? Can I still bring him to you to be cremated?

You absolutely can. The only factor the accident will have on our being able to provide services for your baby is whether or not we will be capable of acquiring any additives for you such as a fur clipping, paw print, etc.

how much ash should i get back?

The average amount of ash returned depends entirely on the size of your pets bone mass. Your pets ash will represent approximately 2.5% of their weight after cremation. For example, a dog weighing about 100 pounds may produce about 2 - 2.5 pounds of cremains after cremation. Whereas a cat weighing 10 pounds may produce a miniscule amount of cremains weighing approximately less than 1 pounds after cremation. There are also many other factors to take into account for this such as your pets age. A baby or elderly pet will have a much less dense bone mass than an adult pet will. Breeds are also a factor to consider as some specific breeds have a higher bone density than others. We may not be able to tell you the exact amount to expect back from your baby but we can certainly advise you on about how much may remain.

do you cremate reptiles?

Yes we do, as well as a variety of our more exotic pets. Whereas we may not be able to offer fur clippings and paw prints to be returned with our reptilian friends, we do offer other creative ways to memorialize them such as an imprint of their tail or their feet (if applicable). Just let us know of your special baby and we will be happy to accomodate however we can.

How much does it cost for cremation?

The cost for our services depends entirely on exactly what you would like for your pet. We do have a few basic packages to choose from that can be found under the Cremations Services tab with a breakdown of what is provided with each particular package as well as pricing based on your pets size. However, we do understand that each family may want something a little different so please feel free to contact our office to go over any details you may want specifically for your baby in regards to what we offer.

What is the process of bringing my pet to you?

If you would like to bring your pet directly to our facility, we ask that you contact our office to coordinate a time with us so that we can ensure there will be no other families in our office at the time of your arrival. Once you arrive, a member of our staff will ask you to fill out a card with your information as well as information about your pet that we need to know. They will then assist you with going over our different package options and answering any questions you may have so that we can be sure that you have everything you would want for you baby. .

I don’t want my pet back, will you put [her] in a landfill?

Pets who come to our facility are never sent to a landfill. If you prefer that your pet not return home with you after we have provided cremation services, you pets remains will be buried on Pet Haven property with “friends” who are also not being returned to their owners.

do you come to homes to pick up animals?

Unfortunately, we do not offer residential services at this time. We do apologize for this inconvenience.

My fur baby has been buried for many years but I have to move away. Can I still have them cremated so I don’t have to leave them behind?

We understand the want to keep your baby with you at all times. In the event that you wish to bring them to us after having been buried, we can certainly still provide a cremation service for them though we will not be capable of providing any additives (such as fur clipping, paw print, etc.) for them. We simply ask that you let us know of the situation so that we can be properly prepared for your baby upon your arrival.

CAN I HAVE ENGRAVING DONE?

We currently do not have the capability of engraving on our urns or on nameplates. However, we have had many families who have taken their urn to a local trophy shop to be engraved on. If this is something you would wish to do, please be sure to let us know and we will be happy to supply you with a temporary container to place your pet in at no additional charge as most shops will not engrave on the urn if your pet is currently in it. Additionally, if you would prefer that we place your pet into their permanent urn after you have had the engraving done so that you will not have to, we are happy to do so for you.

I have tried calling many times but no one will answer.

We do apologize for this inconvenience to you. In the event a family calls in but receives no answer, we ask that you please leave us a message so that we may contact you as soon as we are capable. We are a small business with limited staff and if you are calling during our normal operating hours, we are more than likely already assisting another family either on the phone or in person and we will be incapable of answering our lines during those times. The best and easiest way to get in touch is to leave us a message.
